Building Characterisation using Polarimetric Interferometric SAR Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes the characterisation of buildings using fully polarimetric interferometric SAR data at Lband. This analysis is performed in two steps. Urban targets are first discriminated from surrounding natural media, using a polarimetric classification procedure. Then, urban objects are characterised by their shape information. The length and width is obtained using a superresolution procedure. An interferometric phase estimation, based on ESPRIT principle, is applied for the retrieval of the heigth of different media and specifically for the heigth of the buildings.

Polarimetric and Interferometric SAR Calibration Verification Methods
It is necessary to calibrate SAR data in order to use the data for science applications. When both polarimetric and interferometric data are collected simultaneously, these SAR data can be used for cross-calibration and verification. The frequency of polarimetric and interferometric data does not have to be the same for this purpose. For example, the NASA/JPL AIRSAR system can acquire C-band in...
متن کاملScene characterization using Sub-Aperture Polarimetric Interferometric SAR Data
In this paper, a fully polarimetric analysis method is introduced to decompose synthesized Interferometric SAR images into sub-aperture data sets, which correspond to the scene responses under different azimuthal look-angles. A statistical analysis of polarimetric parameters permits to clearly discriminate media showing a non-stationary polarimetric behavior during the SAR integration. A method...
متن کاملAnalysis of Built-Up Areas from Polarimetric Interferometric SAR Images
This paper describes the analysis of built-up areas using fully polarimetric interferometric SAR data at L-band. This approach uses a polarimetric interferometric segmentation to determine the number of dominant scattering mechanisms required by an interferometric phase estimation using ESPRIT method.
متن کاملBuilding Extraction from Polarimetric Interferometric Sar Data Using Bayesian Network
Many researches have been done to extract buildings from high resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data. The extraction problem is far from solved due to many constraints, e.g. SAR side-look imaging, speckle, and lack of object extent in SAR images. Building detection algorithms usually use intensity information or textures. Layovers and shadows can be discriminated from other objects sinc...
متن کاملPolarimetric Interferomtry
SAR polarimetry makes use of the polarization dependent scattering response of each pixel within the imaged area. The polarimetric response is highly sensitive to the scattering mechanism of a pixel. SAR interferometry is sensitive to the location of a pixel and its scattering geometry. The location of a pixel can be measured by the phase difference between two coherent SAR images using SAR int...
